Hello all!

I need some advice on what to do here. I currently have an Apple Watch Series 3, which I bought at the time of its release… so I’ve gotten a fair bit of use.

With all the rumours of a big redesign for the Apple Watch for S7, I was planning to upgrade in the next few months. Unfortunately, that redesign didn’t go as planned as you all know, and we’ve been left with a S7 which has barely changed from S6… leaving me a bit underwhelmed.

The 44mm Watch goes for €459 over here from Apple. I found a deal online for the Series 6 44mm (PRODUCTRED version) for €374.95, which is a pretty good saving on the RRP. Not sure if this will go lower when the Series 7 actually releases, but I can’t imagine it dropping much more tbh?

Do you think I should settle with a Series 6 upgrade at the discount above, wait and pay full whack for the Series 7 or wait with my Series 3 until the Series 8 comes out with the upgrades that S7 was supposed to have?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

I think you have two good choices. Wait for the Series 7 to be released, and then 1) buy it, or 2) buy a Series 6 at refurbished prices.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind doing that. Unfortunately I haven’t been paying much attention to typical refurb prices for the gen old watches here in Europe when a new one releases so I’m not too sure how much of a discount you get. Wondering if it’s usually more than the €85/18% or so that the sale I found has (for a brand new one).

I'm not sure either. The discount price you found is pretty sweet.
Yeah it’s pretty nice, especially in Europe where we don’t usually get as good deals on Apple products as the US. Decisions, decisions 😅

If you are not passionate about the bigger screen on the 7, you should probably jump on the discounted 6. I doubt the price will drop enough to make waiting worthwhile.

Honestly, I think it’s a bit absurd that stores haven’t already discounted the 6. I mean, whether the 7 is out yet or not, the 6 is now no longer the most current model. Paying full price for it would be beyond dumb.

If you found a good deal on a 6, it’s probably a good choice.

Doesn't sound like a good deal if you don't get your own choice of band.

Doesn't sound like a great deal even if you do. 18% off? meh.

I experience the same ‘problem’, I’ll be buying my first AW. For me, the bigger screen is worth the extra ~100€.

That discount you posted is also 18% though (19% if you round it, which is the same situation as the European discount I found). We usually don’t get as good deals on Apple stuff in Europe either… I haven’t seen much better than 15-20% tbh.

Same boat almost, we are old and need health and fall monitors. Not sure what to do, as there is no posted feature comparison chart and there are rumors of vaporwear here (too many rumors to make sense of it all. thx!
