Hi there, for various reasons I would like to run Windows, namely Windows 10, on a laptop platform, but I don't need a new one because my 2012 Retina MBP keeps on going like it did when it was new. Combining this excellent hardware with the best of both worlds in terms of software seems like a convincing option to me.

So, my specific questions are the following.
  • Is it possible to predict if my machine would run it smoothly? We are talking about a 15-incher equipped with the 2.3 GHz i7-3615QM quad-core, dGPU (GT650M), 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage.
  • Would it be possible to feed a 1440p Thunderbolt Display via Thunderbolt 2 while using the laptop's screen, with correct resolution and aspect ratio in Windows too?
  • What is your experience as far as battery life is concerned? I am talking about a new battery that I would install since the original one is fried.
Thank you very much in advance for your advice, have a nice evening (or whatever time it is for you).
