My mac pro 3,1 has this 320gb hard drive installed
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=305

I guess its good enough. But wanted to add another drive so I can put my music and iphoto and videos on it seperately.
I also want fast access speed to that drive.
Also, maybe my applications can be transfered to a faster disk for quicker load times. The current hddrive is 7200 rpm.Dont mind getting 2 drives then.
Questions is what drives are out there for mac that will be good.

Any advice please and thank you

Any SATA drive will work. There is no such thing as a mac specific drive.

SSD are the fastest, but most expensive $/GB.

I saw benchmarks that one SSD is still faster then two HDs in RAID0

Maybe grab a SSD for your OS and apps, and then something like a WD 1TB black for everything else
