Advice on selling my 17" Powerbook

Hey guys, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I do not have enough posts to stick in Marketplace area. I'm just trying to get your opinion on something.

I'm selling my 17" Powerbook 1.67gHz G4 (Low Res model) w/ 1GB ram with Applecare and accessories for $1900. It comes with the original packaging, receipts, Applecare good till 03/26/08, iCurve, Tucano 2nd skin, Logitech MX1000 Mouse, Apple BT keyboard, extra battery and extra wall charger.

Am I asking too much? I've been having trouble selling it for about 2 weeks on Craigslist. Powerbook is in a very good condition, tiny little dent on the corner but from a drawer opening, never been dropped.

I think you will be lucky to get $1500. With the new MBPs available there isn't much of a market for a G4. Add to that, the 17" PB is kind of a niche product anyway, it may take you awhile to sell. Search on eBay and you can see what they are going for there.

You should always look around before pricing- particularly at the refurbs at the apple store. I agree it's a niche product- it's for a more specific type of customer than the 2 smaller sizes.

The Powerbook market is pretty brutual...
Your pretty much taking a huge loss on what you initially paid.

Is there a reason for selling the system? Upgrading or just need the cash?
A lot of smaller stores do trade in programs so you could see if they could cut you a deal.

the reason I'm selling is because I need a smaller powerbook, the desks are at my university are just too small to handle this thing.
