Hi all

Excited to receive my Watch Ultra today. Have had most Series since very first which was the original (Series 0) in Space black stainless with Space Black link bracelet (cost a fortune at the time!!!!). I have since purchased many straps, but always gone for space black/graphite stainless watches as I have upgraded.

My main concern re the Ultra is that it wont really match well with the SB Link bracelet - which whilst I don't use often (have loads of straps), I do bring out for formal occasions!

Thoughts on how it will look??? AM also wondering whether a solution would be to get something like teh case below which might help the overall look with the bracelet...

Alternately I could keep both watches, but not only would that mean I can't get the sales proceeds from existing S7, but also that I would be keeping a 2nd watch purely for very occasional use with the link bracelet! Likewise though, don't really want to have such an expensive strap that I can't use!!!

Keen to hear people's thoughts (or other options) on this!

Thanks!!!

My fave is the Black Link Bracelet too.

I will be trying it for sure on my Ultra later and will post pics.

Replying to get notification. I am interested in the result myself. My watch doesn't arrive until the end of October.

I think it looks good.

This is a weird one for me. I have the black link but don’t like the pairing with the Ultra. But the black sport band and black leather link I really like. It’s something about the shiny metal of the link that clashes for me I think.

Do you find that sliding the link bracelet into the ultra is stiffer / tighter than other bands? The black band came out with some silver / titanium on it after sliding in
My silver link, and also the Alpine loop, are so stiff to get out of the top of the Ultra that the first time I thought they were stuck. Even the button to release the mechanism is hard to push down with these two bands. All other band types are fine though.

Yes. So much so that I've downgraded the link bracelet from a daily driver to a "special occasions only" band.

The only other band that I've had this kind of tightness issue with is, ironically enough, the alpine loop it came with. Everything else just slides in like normal.

Where can I get a version 1 model of the space black link? Btw any black strap looks good with the ultra because there is so much black on the screen.

Totally works for me, yes. Also, I didn’t notice the band is ‘stiff’. Key is to first take out the shackle, so you just have the ‘connectors.’ Slide them inside your AWU and then connect the shackles. If you do it the other way, attaching the band in one time, I am sure you’ll break it. The correct way to do it, is reading the manual of the bracelet.

Here’s a closeup shot of how the Ultra looks with the Space Black link bracelet. For some reason, this combo with the Solar Dial face screams “dive watch” to me.

Just put mine on again, will keep on for now. I was initially unsure but then realised my Ocean Band is a similar contrast with the dark strap against the light titanium so that should be discounted as a reason not to pair them.
It was very difficult to slide in though.

I personally prefer how it looks with the normal link bracelet, but I can appreciate the contrast with the Space Black there, too.

As for the difficulty of sliding the lugs in, that's a common issue with Titanium cases, and can be solved with a tiny bit of soap or Ballistol on the lug.

Titanium tends to gall badly when rubbed against other metals.

I think you're right. Anyway I decided to take the Link off as I'm not comfortable with the tightness of the fit.
I'm now using a Dark Cherry Leather Link which I tried initially but went back to the Ocean Band.

Looks great and I'm not fretting about the ultra snug fit of the metal strap now.
