Advice Upgrad Macbook Pro late 2008

I have a unibody silver- black keys- 15" Macbook Pro late 2008- I want to up grade the memory to 8 gb- and HD to 750 7200 rpm - After looking all over for months I would like some advice on which brands to purchase, and correct cards for my Macbook - Kingston and Crucial seem to have good reviews? Anyone with personal experience and suggestion- Thank you

When it comes to hard-drives id stick to western digital or at the least stay away from seagate ive had nothing but issues with them over the years
