I am Australian, and have a small (OM-D) camera and am in Europe for 3 to 4 weeks holiday.

I am wondering what is the smallest system for moving photos to.

At home, I have a MacPro 8 processor machine with the current architecture (ie 2010 technology), which has lots of goodies including a Eizo CG243W monitor which is good for photos.

My wife has a iPad 3 generation; my son a 13" MacPro which is 18 months or sold old; I have lots of older Macbooks and Macbook Pros which I don't use. And they are too big for travel.

So ... firstly, can I somehow use the iPod for moving good photos to an external drive? I don't think that is an option though, but it would be good if I could.

I could buy a macbook of some kind, but that seems costly for what I need.

I don't want to buy a cheap Windoze notebook, but they are cheap and small, and can be OK if I buy a decent one on discount (which could take me forever to find).

Any suggestions?
