I just installed this poker website my friend was telling me about and i think it gave me adware or something. whenever i accidently type in a url and instead of .com i accidently put in .cm it takes me to different ad type websites, one is a viral video site and another is an online dating thing, i am running a virus scan now but so far nothing. Any help is appreciated. thanks

You installed a website? What do you mean by this, or how did you do it?
There's a very small chance that your computer has a virus. The behavior you describe isn't exactly abnormal, either. For example, if I type in Google.cm, I'm taken to a singles dating site (.cm is a valid top level domain assigned to the country of Cameroon in Africa).
