Hi,
I downloaded two wallpapers from a website but the downloaded files turned out to have the file names adware mac bundlore.
I ran Bitdefender which deleted one of the files but said it couldn't delete the other. Since then I have deleted the remaining file in "Downloads".

I didn't install anything, I just downloaded 2 files. So is my system safe now or is there adware or a virus still there?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Download MalwareBytes and run it:

IMPORTANT:
Select the "home" option.
It's a FREE download

IMPORTANT:
You DO NOT NEED TO BUY A SUBSCRIPTION to run MalwareBytes.
It will run FOREVER IN FREE MODE.

When you open it, IGNORE the button to "Upgrade Now" or "Activate License".
Just click "Scan".
Again, you DO NOT have to buy the pay-for version!

You CAN pay to register it if you wish. The cost is very reasonable.
Do this, and it will offer malware scanning/protection "in real time", continuously.

The free version only runs when you launch it manually.

I answered you in your other post.
Not a good idea to post multiple threads with the same questions...

Thanks for the tips! I have now run Malwarebytes. It completed the scan in 30 seconds and reports no malware, virus or infected files. Does that mean that the computer is safe or is there a longer more through scan within Malwarebytes which one can do?

@mods, you can delete this thread as it's a duplicate.

MODERATOR NOTE: I have merged the two threads and deleted a couple duplicate posts. But please note, more than just "not a good idea", it's against the forum rules to post duplicate threads. It's all good now though. :)
Thanks! Didn’t know there’s not a delete button for threads…😂

So, with Malwarebytes not finding any infected files, is this issue resolved and I can just continue to use the iMac normally?
