I own a MacBook Pro (a 2008 model, running Snow Leopard) and for a few months now, I have had my entire iTunes library (100+ G) stored on an external HD.

Today I bought an Airport Extreme, and hooked my external HD up to it, hoping to access my music through iTunes without having to have the HD connected to my MBP's USB. I'm not having any trouble running things from my external HD from the AEB... in fact, I was able to watch a movie earlier with no problem.

Except:
I went into my iTunes prefs and changed the location of my library, but now iTunes "can't locate" about 80% of my tracks (strangely, it doesn't have a problem locating some of the new tracks, which are located on the same external HD as the others...).

Am I missing a step here? As I see it, I'm going to have to go through EVERY TRACK and locate it on the external volume. ...No, thank you.

Can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong, or maybe offer some kind of help?
Thanks so much!
