If they havent seen a plane before what the hell must they be thinking? It boggles the mind!

I kind of sucks that they couldn't just leave them be. As you say, what must they be thinking. No doubt they're highly superstitious/spiritual, they probably think the plane has been sent by the "gods" and symbolises their impending doom if they don't sacrifice several small children.

The Brazilian government do let them be, thats why they remain 'uncontacted' however they did this fly over to prove they exist to try and stop further logging in the area.

Apparently there are around 100 known tribes in the Amazon that still remain 'uncontacted'.

For some reason this is the first thing I thought about... the Prime Directive

Wiki said:
In the fictional universe of Star Trek, the Prime Directive, Starfleet's General Order #1, is the most prominent guiding principle of the United Federation of Planets. The Prime Directive dictates that there can be no interference with the internal affairs of other civilizations, consistent with the historical real world concept of Westphalian sovereignty. It has special implications, however, for civilizations that have not yet developed the technology for interstellar spaceflight ('pre-warp'), since no primitive culture can be given or exposed to any information regarding advanced technology or the existence of extraplanetary civilizations, lest this exposure alter the natural development of the civilization. In addition to exposure, purposeful efforts to improve or change in any way the natural course of such a society, even if that change is well-intentioned and kept completely secret, are prohibited.

'Pre-warp' is defined as any culture which has not yet attained warp drive technology. Starfleet allows scientific missions to investigate and move amongst pre-warp civilizations as long as no advanced technology is left behind, and there is no interference with events or no revelation of their identity. This can usually be accomplished with hidden observation posts, but Federation personnel may disguise themselves as local sentient life and interact with them.

its good that the Brazilian government "let them be" i would be terrible if they got documented by modern humans and sold as a 'freak show'. they would probably get very depressed.

its very scary to see people are still so primitive that they get scared of the modern world. this is very interesting.

Wonder if any of these tribes can be seen in forest clearings in Google Earth?

Too late. They've seen the plane. They'll be wearing Nike tshirts and flip flops by next week. iPhone will be out on June 9th on the Amazon Apple Store.

Nah, next time we fly over, one of them will have become the Roman Tribe, one will have become the 1920s Gangster Tribe and one will have become the Nazi Tribe.

mind-boggling at times. terribly sad that we're destroying people's lives and the world at the same time by logging.

The people who do illegal logging obviously don't care if animals get hurt. The same people will probably just assume these people are no better than animals and continue their illegal ways.
