Affordable external storage

I need an affordable external storage solution, preferably 2TB storage + FireWire 800.
Don't care about how it looks, because it's going to be tucked away somewhere anyway. So price and reliability are the most important factors.


Can anyone recommend me some good ones?

Buy a bare drive + enclosure. Platter-based hard drives are all the same in terms of reliability - buy the one that has the best warranty for your budget and size requirements.

OK, I'll look into that. Anywhere cheap/safe you would recommend me buying it? (preferably inside the EU to limit shipping fees)
