affraid to "upgrade cydia" LoL

I just opened cydia and saw the notification that stuff needs to be upgraded.....but read a few threads on here saying how their phones where bricked or had to restore......i REALLY don't want to restore. i'm happy on 3.1.2 tethered on my 3Gs 32gb. what should i do, just ignore the upgrade over and over? or has anyone NOT had a problem upgrading?

My guess is it's happening to people that are on 3.1.3. It hasn't been updated to work with them yet. It worked fine for me this morning, on my 3.1.2 3g.

(3G iPhone) I was on 3.1.3. and it killed my phone. Just did a Restore in iTunes and JB'd using RedSnow. Gonna get my tether back, then Rock it to get my JB apps back...

I did the Cydia upgrades when they popped up on my 3.1.3 3G. No issues whatsoever.

Cydia has been compatible with 3.1.3 since February.

Hmmm that was just my best guess. I wonder what else could be different that's causing it to happen to some but not others?

Likely it's incomplete or corrupted installs.
Cydia is getting hammered right now.

So i guess i should just ignore the upgrades for a few days. Maybe try next week or something. This is my only phone right now so i need it to stay reliable

Never a harm in waiting if your iPhone is functioning properly!

The upgrade went fine for myself as well, but am a bit puzzled by how Cydia runs now. The new look is sleek, however every app I try to download is a dead link. Anyone else having this issue?

Nevermind-- I isolated the issue to appscene's server. Downloads from mediafire and other locations work fine.

3.13 3G here - I did the Cydia upgrade and Cydia broke (video recorder also). Crashes immediately upon launch. As far as I can tell everything else is ok including pdanet which is the reason I jailbroke in the first place...

Has anyone had any luck fixing it without having to restore?
