Here's my question:

When I have my MBP connected to my MB via a Firewire 400/Ethernet cable, I want large file transfers (movies) to go through the faster Firewire/Ethernet connection. But by default, AFP based file transfers always choose the Airport connection and to make the transfer use IP over Firewire, I have to disable Airport on any one machine. Is there a setting/preference option for AFP transfers to use the fastest IP media (firewire/ethernet instead of wi-fi) when mutiple IP interfaces are present ?

Thanks in advance.

Not that I'm aware of, but I have always had my system default to the wired connection over the wireless card.

I too thought that should be the default (an logical) case but then it's not happening for me. :(
