At approximately 11:47 AM, an order was placed for a brand new Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro. After 204 posts and after a year of belonging to MacRumors, I finally switched.:D :D :D :D :D

I'd just like to thank you all for making my purchase much easier. :D Also, if I've ever made any bad or useless posts, sorry, my bad.

Switcher!

Congrats on the new machine. Hope switching is as smooth as process as it should be.

Now you can really take part in the boards... Just wait until the first time a software update screws up some setting on your machine; you'll have a whole network to commiserate with. :)

congrats, mine shall be here monday, have fun with it and hope it has none of the problems that are on that quality control thread.

how long did it take to ship? mine is supposed to be here in about a week

Congrats!

I picked up my MacBook last morning at 6am! I decided it was worth getting up early to get a new portable OS X machine again!

I take it you didn't want to brave the Miracle Mile Apple store last night ;)

I have never had any problems with updates yet. :) I have been a long time mac user too....ever since os 6.......click crash......reboot. Open up something in wonderful multi-finder more then one app at a time woooooo.......crash...force quit freeze........reboot.
Ok it was not that bad but you get the picture. Now run 100 apps at once.:D

funny that people are talking about the chicago apple store.

i live in the phoenix area, but the chicago store is the apple store i've been to most recently. quite the place, to say the least.

congratulations!

I wonder, did you solve people's mac questions even before you had a mac?

naw. i never solved any major problems like random shutdowns, dead pixels, and stuff like that. only the basics because i use macs regularly at school. i posted in like glossy vs. matte threads, marketplace, mac basics, community, pictures.

COngrats on the new mac !

I can't comment on the current machines, since I won't have one until early '07, but I can tell you that all 6 of the macs I bought starting with a AIO G3 on up, are STILL running quite well today, despite extensive daily use and massive amounts of tinkering, modding, OS/SW changes, hardware upgrades, etc etc.....

me thinks that could be called "reliable", yes ?
