I got the white 16Gb iphone. I just picked it up an hour ago and i love this thing. I also baught Apple care. Is apple care worth it, or should I return it?

Altogether I paid $409.88 My montly bill will be $84+tax. I have a 450 minute plan and unlimited text.

Any opinions on what else I should do?

I bought a Griffin iclear case for my phone.

applecare is a great protection plan.
just keep your iphone away from water...
it voids everything.

Also don't drop your iPhone because Applecare doesn't cover that either.

What DOES Applecare cover? Any defects in plastic housing, screen, or speakers would be covered under the regular warranty. I'm not trying to exaggerate things, I would just like someone to kindly explain a situation in which the manufacturer's warranty wouldn't cover it, but Applecare would. Then I think we can discuss whether or not it's worth it...

I would return the apple care. You can always purchase it before the year is up.

I rarely keep my phone longer than a year, the only good thing about apple care is when you sell it.

Its your choice.
Hope you like your iPhone. :apple:

Are you currently attending any school? college? university? Alumnae? Working?

If you said YES to any of the said options above, you might qualify for the FAN discount with AT&T. You can read this thread that partially talks about what a FAN is and what are some of the feature codes you can add to your AT&T account. Also don't forget the Referral program ;) If you have any questions, just PM me. Of course you have to be the primary account holder on your AT&T service before you can do any of these.

Btw congrats on your new purchase! I'm pretty sure you're gonna love your iPhone. Nice that you have an iClear as well, love that case!

i love this phone! Its fast, the clear picture, Clear sound and how high the volume goes is amazing!

Congratulations! Enjoy your new phone!

Some app selectivity will go a long way. Otherwise, one day you'll wake up, look at your phone and realize that it is cluttered beyond belief with crap apps you never use.

Yes, yes. Congrats! And good for you for waiting 3 months. In a society where everyone needs/wants everything NOW, it's nice to hear about someone who actually planned ahead and are now reaping the benefits. Good show!

Congrats on the new white 16BG!

When they asked me about Apple Care, I just said NO. From everything I read, it wasn't worth it. See if you can get a refund.

Applecare is great for the computers but not for the phone. Your covered for the 1st year regardless and for me, I don't keep phones for that long. Plus Apple comes out with new phones every year, so what's the point?

Your 7 months late (July 11th) not 3 by the way.

Great choice on the case. I gave mine to my girl because she likes to treat her phones like there basketballs. A great solid case.

You make it sound like he waited until marriage to lose his virginity. ;)

As Resist explains below, AppleCare is simply an extension in coverage of the manufacturers warranty.

It is the same coverage as the original warranty, with an extra year for service and one year 10 months extra for support. Accidental damage is in no way covered.
