2 weeks ago, there were so many mbp update rumors from so many sources that the update seemed imminent and inevitable. But liek you all noticed, there hasn't been mbp rumors for a couple of weeks now.

Does that mean updates aren't coming after all...
or is it just the calm before the storm?

Probably it doesn't mean diddly squat, but i felt it was noteworthy.

It could be the calm before the storm. Apple was probably still working on it while all of the rumors were coming. Now, it's probably finished and they're just waiting until the 26th.

I personally am thrilled that there are no more NEW threads about the NEW MBP's

They will get here when they get here, plain and simple!
