I have 2 monitors on my m1 Studio. The first monitor is an Asus and it works fine all the time. The Second monitor is a Dell 27" and it seems to drop offline. The monitor is connected to the Studio with this Warrky cable as recommended in these forums. Power cycling the monitor does not help. The only way I can get the monitor to come back online is to power cycle the system.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Another "Fishrrman dumb suggestion" :

Try connecting the USBc plug (Mac end of the cable) to a DIFFERENT port on the Studio.
Try EVERY port (on the front, too) if you have to.

In other words, "rule them all out".
Sounds like the OS is "dropping" the display connection in the same way many users complain that the USB ports will "drop" external drives.

I fixed this sort of.

I turned on the screen saver. I set it to black so it did not light up too much. But at least it ensures the monitor is constantly seeing a signal from the Mac and visa verse.

Now, even when I turn the monitor power off for the day, the next morning the monitor connects and displays the screen saver.

Well it is back, sort of. Last week the problem reoccured. But I found by swapping the USB C ports I was able to the mac redetect the monitor without a reboot. And it has been 6 days since the problem last occurred. Perhaps the UBC-C port I was on originally has an issue? Only time will tell.
