Hi.

I just installed iOs 5 for the first time via beta 4. Yeah, I just hadn't gotten around to it. However, after I updated it, the only thing that remained on the iPod after the restore was my photos. Music and apps were removed. I tried to sync them with my iTunes library but the sync button is grayed out in the music section of the iPhone window. When I try to apply and sync apps it hesitates then does nothing.

Someone please help. This is quite annoying.

In addition to this, the phone vibrates over and over again repeatedly for minutes after plugging it in via USB.

Can someone please address this?

Sorry to the OP, but I am of no help.
Just chiming in as well.
I get an error 50 in itunes when trying to sync.
Anyone know a fix ?

Seriously, can anyone assist us with this?

The only option I can think of right now if this error is unfixable would be to put my phone into DFU and then try to restore to 4.3.3.

Or I somehow find a way to access the 3rd beta and try installing that after having installed this 4th beta.

Any help is appreciated!

What version of itunes / OS ?

I'm not sure if you can DFU restore back into 4.3.3 since the last signed iOS version 4.3.5. I've heard of a workaround by going down to 4.1, but in all honesty I don't know too much about it.

Make sure you have iTune 5.0 beta 4 installed. This should fix your synch issues.

I do have 10.5 beta 4 installed.
Still no joy

I've been on the iOS 5 beta and the iTunes 10.5 betas since they first started, and after updating to b4 of iOS 5 and iTunes, they synced fine for a while... but now iTunes wants me to set it up as a new phone or restore from a backup, when the phone is normal and has all of my data on it... It won't sync or backup, and I really don't wanna restore it... so this is interesting

From what I'm experiencing this beta is worse than the others, oddly enough.

I'll try updating to iTunes 10.5 beta 4.

This beta is definitely a little choppy in the animations but that's about it other than of course not all the apps working yet(including my own :p).

And yes in order for everything to work properly make sure everything is updated to the latest beta.

???

Got it to work. Thanks guys. Appreciate the help.

What would I do without MacRumors..?

^^

what did you do to get it to work?

I installed iOS 5 beta 4 on my iPhone 4 using iTunes 10.5 beta 4 without an issue. I backed up my phone before upgrading iTunes and my phone with iTunes 10.4. After upgrading both iTunes and iPhone I attempt to do a restore but receive an error message saying that "This version of iTunes is too old to sync". I am able to restore all of my contacts with iTunes but it does not allow me to restore music, ringtones or applications. If someone has a solution or method of downgrading iTunes to an earlier beta or any other options let me know!

umm wheres the release notes, sorry new to the site....

Sorry, my answer was a little tounge-in-cheek. They are on the Apple Developer site, but there are copies posted around the Internet. bgr has the full change log and along with the Read Me there are similar issues described. Also, the Dev forum might give you a quicker / clearer answer.
