after boot camp, osx asks to reboot over and over

I installed boot camp last night. It seemed to go fine, and windows is running just fine.

However, when I hold option and pick the OSX drive to boot from, after it starts loading eventually the screen fades to gray, and asks me to reboot by holding the power for 4 seconds. I can't get past this no matter how many times I try.

I tried booting from the repair CD and the same thing happens.. yipes!
Any help or suggestions?

one thing i've come across many times but never tried is the process of clearing the PRAM and NVRAM, and apple article covers it here
