I registered all my products with AppleCare, and I have kept the boxes. Do I need to keep them for anything? The only thing inside is the registration code for the product, and TechTools deluxe. I kept the disk, but can I throw everything else out?

You need to keep the serial number that's on the box as well as the appelcare number inside the box.

If there's ever a problem with your coverage apple will come back and ask for the serial number.

People have been counterfeiting applecare numbers for a while and the way for apple to confirm an actual applecare product is by the serial number. I always keep that small box, just in case

I've never been asked for my Applecare serial number after I've tied it to my machine. I've only been asked for the machine serial number.

Is the serial number (of the AppleCare) on the top of the box? If so, keep that part of the box, and keep the papers that were IN the box that show the product codes.

You never know when you might be asked for such things -- some folks report that they are never asked, others that they do get asked for "proof of purchase".

If you keep these items, you've got the bases covered.

Just on a side note, if you ever plan on selling the machine, keep all the ORIGINAL boxes, papers, etc. Just throw it up in your attic or something.

Mac people seem to like that stuff :)
