There are some issues with my MBP2013 motherboard or sensor. After installing BigSur, the "kernel_task" process will always occupy a large amount of CPU, make the system very slow.
So I followed the steps of this tutorial del ioplatformpluginfamilykext and deleted IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext.
(The problem is basically solved. Although "kernel_task" will suddenly occupy a higher CPU and require restarting the computer.)

Now bigsur is okay, but after using the tutorial steps, Monterey+oclp or Ventura+oclp will not recognize USB storage devices except for Logitech's USB wireless receiver

Is there a solution to the high CPU usage of "kernel_task" after installing Ventura?

Your computer either has a thermal or power problem, such as a failed or missing battery, a failed fan, or has had some sort of other failure. This Apple document explains what kernel_task really is doing: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207359

yes,
The most likely reason is that the temperature sensor is broken, so the fan has the maximum speed and the "kernel_task" process occupy a large amount of CPU to reduce heat generation. The tutorial I found solves this problem.

It's ok on BigSur and now I am using bigsur to post, but Ventura/monterey, cannot recognize USB storage devices.

Of course, I need to install macsfancontrol to control the fan speed.

Yes, that extension is where all the USB device info for the OS is, so it makes sense that your USB devices won't work at that point.

So I need a correct solution so that Ventura can recognize the USB storage devices like BigSur.

Do you have multiple macOS systems, all booting on your MBPro 2013? (separate partitions on the same internal SSD?)
Boot to your Ventura/OCLP installer, reinstall Ventura.
Assuming you have a missing kext, the reinstall should correct that.
If the problem is hardware (and the only way to "fix" your hardware problem is to remove the kext that gives you access to USB storage), then that may not fix anything -- but, worth a try, I think.
(The Logitech Wifi dongle, although a USB device, is not USB storage. That should be the reason why it works but not other external USB drives. If the problem is only software, you should be able to boot to the USB Ventura installer while holding the Option key. You may need to do an NVRAM reset first, before the USB installer will appear in the Option-boot picker screen. And of course, remember to select the EFI boot first, then the external USB installer. Should work.)

NVRAM reset, SMC PRAM reset ,cannot repair it.
I have tested it many times and I feel like my mbp's hard drive is about to be damaged.

99% is that the temperature sensor is broken → kernel_task 500% and Max fan speed.

mojave/catalina/bigsur : del ioplatformpluginfamily.kext → ok (install macsfancontrol to control the fan speed)
ventura/montery : del ioplatformpluginfamily.kext → 90%ok + cannot recognize USB storage devices.

Hello ng0757, I allow myself to resume this post because I have the same problem of defective temperature sensor on my MBP2012. on Catalina I had managed it to delete the IOPlatformPluginFamily file and manage the fan with macsfancontrol but I installed Monterey and I don't find the solution to change the read-only disk status in the single user mode and delete the kext file. can you explain me how did you do it?
thanks
