ok so i ripped my dvd with backup , now with the ts folder i can view it in apple dvd player and its 8 gig about , how would i go about compressing it so i can use toast to burn it. dvd2one or dvdremaster or dvdimager not sure wat they do exaclty , also does mactheripper do wat backup does?

MactheRipper is the same as DVDBackup. Like you said, you now need to compress the DVD backup you have on your computer so you can burn it onto a 4.7GB dvd and that's where dvd2one comes in. It's pretty pricey but it works.

After that just burn it using Toast.
 
I personally use DVD2OneX cause it will compress the DVD and then also create the disk image that I place in Apple's Disk Utility to burn. If you do use this program make sure you also download DVD Imager, and follow DVD2OneX's instruction as you will need to grab something from that program to place it into DVD2OneX in order to create the disk images from within DVD2OneX.
