After Effects CS4: Best with RAM or more cores?

e.g. would CS4, when rendering motion video, do better with giving it as much RAM as possible on a 2.9GHz dual core machine (e.g. 8GB)?

Or having a 2GB eight-core machine running 2.26GHz as going to 2.66GHz adds $1500 and would kill me?

It is not an easy to answer question, so for now, I'd suggest the staying alive option, until you can't live with it anymore.

Looks like I will go for a 2.66GHz Quad core w/8GB. $800 for twice as many cores (and double the hyperthreading the single quad core offers) doesn't offer too much in return benefits...
