After Effects Help

Ok, so in Photoshop I created a glass ball. I imported the file (ball layer and background layer) into AE. I'm trying to make the bll rotate like the earth on it's axis. I think that should be simple. But I am a AE noob and I need help. Also, later I will try to make text orbit the ball like the moon. If anyone can help me with either prt f this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Its not gonna work the way you have it set up. Check this tutorial out. It will give you an idea of how to make it work. Its dated but the basic idea will still work.
