After Effects help

I'm doing a project for school and I'm ready to throw my iMac out the window cause of it. What i want to do is when the Bruins logo turns around i want to have the video playing with out the logo on top of it; or at least make it lighter so you can see the video. (i might later do a camera movement to go closer in on the video)
Any ideas of what the hell i'm trying to do and what i'm doing wrong. I'm using AE 6.5 Pro.

Off the top of my head I'd suggest when the logo hits 90 degrees cutting to the footage (also at 90 degrees).

i thought about that but then i realized i was lazy.... there has to be a way....ummm

Your problem is that both layers are rotating around their respective centers while you want them to rotate around a common center. The simplest thing to do is to create a parenting relationship.
