I am now at 5 Apple Silicon computers ranging from M1 to M1 Ultra. For some reason, After Effects likes to crash pretty much every time I open up my project now with the latest update. Previous version it would occasionally crash, even just scrubbing through the timeline for 5 seconds. I disabled my Video Copilot plugins and it seems to be in a better state.

Anyone using Video Copilot plugins and it works fine for you? Should I just consider Video Copilot on the verge of abandonware? There has been no update in a year and nothing new. I have been dealing with the occasional crashes for that year time but with the latest AE update I am getting them every time.

I think I can achieve a similar effect if I switch to Trapcode suite. It won't be 1:1 but I think I can get something similar. How does this perform on Apple Silicon?

I work with Trapcode Suite (mainly particular and form) and don't have problems with the last AE version (23.4.0), it's well optimized now (some memory leaks reported by some users in the past) and frequently updated by Maxon.

Video Copilot I only use FX Console and it has been working well since the last AS build. I don't know about other plugins but their updates are not frequent.

The last update for AE has a new effect manager and startup and repair preferences for troubleshooting.
