after effects wont import .mov?

so...i bought the book for after effects cs4 ( classroom in a book )

and one of the first steps was to import a file "DJ.mov"
but after effects wont import! i get this error:

wierd..also the file cannot be played by QT.. i have installed perian.

can anybody help me?

It might be that you don't have the proper codec installed for that particular .mov.

Select the file in the finder and go to File/Get Info. Part way down you will see an area "More Info" It should say what codec (compression) used in the file.

You may be able to download it. Maybe search at apple.com/downloads

Or it might simply be that the file is corrupt. Try to copy it off the cd onto your hard drive again.
