My M4 Mini is using two "smart" TVs as monitors. The older TV (LG) was the only monitor for the first few months, and had been the only monitor for the prior M1 Mini. When I added the new TV (Samsung), via ORICO MiniDock Stand, I wasn't able to make it the primary monitor. I even tried switching the plugs, new TV in the Mini HDMI port, old TV in the dock HDMI port, but the old TV is still seen as the primary monitor. So when streaming with the new TV, I have to have the old TV powered on.

I've been blacking out the old TV by using Firefox and an Amazon Prime video, paused and full screened just after the Prime logo. If I let the system fall asleep on its own, sometimes Firefox crashes upon wakeup, and sometimes the system loses its extended setting. Last night both TVs fell asleep while the mouse was active on the old TV, and then in the middle of the night the space bar was hit by accident. The Prime video started playing, but nothing was showing and I couldn't figure out how to stop it.

Now that I think about it, I do have to reboot my old mouse after sleep, but that didn't come to my just woke up in the middle of the night mind, so I used the Mini's power button to force quit. This morning my startup again made me snicker at the "smart" titles of these devices, because I have to remind them of the only way I've ever used them, but the difference I've run into is that when I click on Notes, no window opens. I've tried many ways on the Notes tool bar, but no window opens. My iPhone still sees the iCloud Notes, so I'm hoping that all my Mini Notes are still somewhere, I'm just not able to open a window and see them, or compose a new Note.

I'd appreciate any help with the multiple issues above, but primarily I'd like to restore my Notes window?

No advice for the issues other than Notes. But for that issue:

First steps:
  1. Apple menu > Force Quit > Quit Notes (if running)
  2. Then hold a Shift key, and open Notes with that held down

If that doesn't sort it...
  1. Apple menu > System Settings > Internet Accounts
  2. Click on each account (including iCloud) and turn off "Notes" wherever it's on
  3. Then retry "First Steps" above; if the app opens with it open go back into System Settings & turn them back on
There are other options as well but good chance ^ will solve it
