I had an ntfs partition on my mac I wanted to switch to hfs. I copied all the contents from it to a backup drive and formatted it in disk utility. I realized I named it wrong so I formatted it again but didnt realize the tab was set to FAT the 2nd time. now no matter what I do that partition is greyed out and wont mount if I format to HFS journaled. If I reformat to fat itll mount fine. any ideas? Im in the process of trying to copy the other partition and format the whole drive but its a pain as I use the other partition alot.

I fixed it by deleting the partition in question and creating a new one.
