I am having this problem on my 2017 iMac. Sometimes I get less than an hour before it locks up but usually 2-3 hours. My MacBook Pro does not have this problem after installing Big Sur nor does my wife's Mini. I have noticed that the bluetooth icon in the menu bar is greyed out after it locks up so I lose mouse and keyboard. I have used remote sharing from my MacBook and can turn the bluetooth back on but my mouse and keyboard still don't work. I end up having to force a restart with the power button. Any ideas on what the issue might be? I have experimented with closing all login items and having Safari as the only open app but the behavior stays the same.

Update. Yesterday I noticed in Activity Monitor that Adobe Creative Cloud was still active. I stopped it and have had no lock ups since. IMO, this points to a conflict between Big Sur and this Adobe menubar app which probably starts up every so often to run a Daemon. That action would explain the periodic lock-ups.
