am I the only one on this boat?

My iPhone screen was replaced by a third-party shop several months ago and it had been working well (with the accepted outcome that "Settings" always had a screen warning).

Immediately after the iOS 16 update yesterday my screen no longer works - the phone is on and vibrates but unsuable screen now. Apple didn't warn me that the software update was going to intentionally deny my third party screen access to video.

I'm in the boat. Hoping that they'll push us 16.1 to fix the issue. I don't know if I can install an update on my own, without them forcing it, given how jacked up the phone is.

I have an Xr with a changed screen that also fails, the screen is unusable.

Going back to 15.7...

When the first iOS 16 beta came out on my 12 pro max I downloaded it and my phone did same exact thing. I had to put in dfu mode and bring it back to 15.6. I thought it was just beta issues. The official version came out and I downloaded it, did the same exact thing. So went back to 15.6. Got on the phone with apple tech and screen shared with them. Only conclusion they could give me was the aftermarket screen.

How are you going back to IOS 15.7 if you cant see the phone to roll back
1. Press volume down and right button at same time.
2. Slide the power off (screen still works it’s just black)
3. Put in dfu mode and plug up to computer and iTunes will do the rest
