Hi there

I was happy that i managed to install all the wonderful iphone apps and a few other cool ones. so everything went fine until i wanted to put some songs on my newly jailbreaked ipod touch.

itunes shows that my ipod has only 265 mb space (all together!!) and only around 13 mb of those 265 were free to use... could anyone please tell me what happened and how i can fix this.

i dont want to reset my ipod again! all these nice apps :D

greetz 2mny!

This is because you forgot to undo the symlink from Media to /. Using either a terminal program on your iPod or SSH'ing to your iPod

/bin/mv /private/var/root/Media /private/var/root/Media_sym

Then, assuming you used niacin and dre's tiff:

/bin/mv /private/var/root/Mediaold /private/var/root/Media

Or where Mediaold is whatever they renamed your old Media directory to.

does anyone know how to relink? sorry but ive got no clue :(

Fix iTunes Syncing

19. If you're not already there, navigate to /var/root and rename Media to Media_sym

20. Rename Mediaold to Media. Keep the FTP and SSH windows open.

21. Open iTunes and allow it to activate. If it doesn't recognize your iPod, reboot it and/or restart iTunes.

Do this in an FTP client.. go to your wifi network hit the blue arrow and find your IP

go to an FTP client type your.ipods.ip.address as the domain
username: root
pass: alpine

make sure you are going into SFTP not just FTP

thanks!

but it after changing it and resterting both ipod and itunes it still shows 225 mb. the funny is that there never was a folder called "mediaold". only "Media" and "Media_sym"

thanks!

Sounds to me like you made an error jailbreaking... You might want to restore and hack it again this time either follow the instructions to the "T" here, or use one of the new automators that is out.

If you use wind0z sorry but I can't help any futher than that.

ok i got it now. i had to rename "mediabackup" into media.

thanks again!
