where to buy and what to get? was going to upgrade it through apple with my new powerbook but everyone else is saying get third party.

whats the best third party ram and where to get it?

also anyone think they will slide in a powerbook update soon? I want the best possible mac for the next three years of college

For RAM, you'll see Crucial.com mentioned by many people on this website. They offer good product support and lifetime warranties on their RAM.
Also, newegg.com & OWC (www.macsales.com) are other good sites to look at.
If you do a search under forums, you will find many threads discussing some of these RAM issues.
As for how much RAM, as much as you can afford - a 1GB extra chip seems like a good starting place if you can afford it.

As for when to buy a PB, another popular question - again, if you search the forums, you'll find several threads.
From the MR Buyer's Guide:
Product: PowerBook
Last Release: January 31, 2005
Days Since Update: 184 (Average = 185)
Recommendation: Buy only if you need it - Approaching the end of a cycle

Best wishes!
