Just did a migration upon new setup from my MBP to a new iMac.

Now when I plug my iPod touch into the iMac, it doesn't show up in iTunes anymore. What could be happening here? (everything is updated to latest, OSX, iTunes, iOS).

Not sure the migration has anything to do with it. Follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot.

Did all of that. Also spent 30+ minutes on the phone with AppleCare. The step I'm at is reinstalling iTunes. Might try that tonight.

Migration certainly had something to do with it, as my iPod is still recognized without issue on the MacBook Pro.

more, interesting info...

my iPod classic shows up just fine on the iMac. But the touch will not.

I restored my touch on my MBP. Then plugged it into the iMac, figuring maybe the iMac will see it if it's a brand new device. No go. Still won't see it.

So my MBP sees the touch, iMac won't.

About to reinstall iTunes, but I'm not sure that's the answer, as iTunes sees the Classic just fine.

ugh.
