Hello, I wonder if someone has come across this issue and has a solution as it's really holding me up from progressing with my podcast:

I have a mid-2010 Mac Pro 5,1 with metal graphics and powered USB 3 hub as well as a recently installed USB 3 / USB C PCIe card. I have successfully installed Sequoia 15.5 using the incredible OpenCore Legacy Patcher and all is well except that when I want to capture video from my Panasonic Lumix GH4 or GH5 using a U-Green video capture card into OBS or other podcast software that I've so far tried, the capture card shows up but there is no video.

When I boot up in my older Mojave OS using an earlier version of OBS everything is fine. Equally the Lumix Beta USB capture software also works in Mojave but not in Sequoia. I know that my old Mac has issues with legacy USB, hence the powered USB options that I've installed, but still no image appears.

I am considering purchasing a couple of dedicated webcam cameras, but I have my doubts about whether they would work if my GH cameras don't. It seems to me that there may be some simple lines of code or Terminal commands that may clear this as it's surely something to do with USB, or is it? Why no video through USB with my new system?

I hope I've explained things clearly but am happy to provide more information if required. I'm also hoping that this is the right part of the forum to post this, but I'm sure I'll be pointed to the right place if not!

Many thanks in advance.

Yes, but it was in the wrong section, so I reposted. I'll see if I can remove the other one.

@The Jeep You might get more traction in this thread seeing how you're using OCLP

This seems like a clean-up job for moderators.. perhaps a moderator can move your thread to the above. You certainly don't want to be creating the same thread in a third forum topic and all over the place.

If you booted into Mojave via OCLP, and capture works, then OCLP is off the hook.

Stuff working in Mojave, but not in later OS builds often means 32-bit software. Mojave was the last macOS that ran 32-bit apps natively. Check for a later version of your capture software / card driver, rated for macOS versions after Mojave.

Thanks guys. I've actually given up on this and am using my MacBook Pro laptop instead, which turns out to be a better solution. It just seems that my 5,1 Mac Pro is too long in the tooth for even the clever guys at OCLP to bring right up to date. The list of things that don't work in Sequoia (OCLP) are: 1) No Bluetooth support; 2) No AVX/AVX2 support for Apple Music (app crashes on search and making a new playlist); 3) the above USB video issue and 4) can't remember right now, but I'm sure there was something else not working.
Still my OCLP Sequoia is so far fine for other tasks, such as Cubase 14 and the latest Logic Pro, so it hasn't been a waste of time. Maybe in a future version of OCLP some of these issues will be addressed, but I saw elsewhere that the main coder is taking a break from it.
Interestingly, ChatGPT had something to say about my USB video capture issue and I've attached the conversation here. Thanks for all the input.

Thanks Bigwaff, I'll check it out.
