After Replacing Keyboard Backlight On Keys Is Brighter In The Center

I spilled water on the the keyboard and some of the keys stopped working but the keyboard lights still worked. So I replaced the keyboard with an after market one and now everything works fine but the center of the keyboard is a lot brighter then the rest of the keys. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Thank you
