When my MBA goes to sleep with the lid open it can't start up again. The keyboard stays lit but doesn't react to anything. I've done a kernel dump and I found the error code

kernel[0] Sleep failure code 0x00000000 0x31000000

I already did a reset of NVRAM/PRAM

Have you got any USB devices connected? I have a new rMBP with the problem and it only seems to happen when a USB device is connected. There's a few topics on Apple's forums if you Google "mavericks sleep wake failure".

Nope nothing connected. I'll take a look on the Apple forums and see. I'm starting to think it might be something with Windows Server.

I had the same problem, Apple told me to reinstall Mavericks after some extensive trouble shooting. It hasn't done it since. :)

I updated Microsoft Office and it hasn't acted up since. So I think it might have been that for me.
