Hi,

I'm going to buy a SSD for my 2010 MBP. Once I install it(or let someone do that:p) and boot it up, I'm guessing I can restore from my time machine backup (it's on a usb hard drive). Will my mac be just the way it was? so does it restore everything, incl apps like ms word?

thanks

Yes it should restore everything. I've done exactly the same recently. You just boot off the install DVD, create a partition on the new disk and then tell it to restore from the TM backup. It takes a while but when it's finished and it reboots, it's just like it was before.
