iPod touch After updating and app, its entry on AppStore sometimes STILL says "Update"

Ipod Touch 5 running ios7. When I download an update for an existing app, sometimes the entry's button in the App Store will still say "Update" instead of "Open". Is this just a "glitch"... it did update, but the button label wasn't changed? However, sometimes the it'll let me go back and update the app YET AGAIN.


I tried downloading a random free app just to make sure that still works, and I was able to download it and open it.
