After upgrade to BigSur, 2015 MacbookPro (12,1) video choppy & slow compared to audio

As tittle says, video playback is choppy and slow compared to audio, which plays at normal speed without pausing. Video never catches up to the audio.

I initially noticed this on youtube. So i checked playback on tiktok and Metacafe, and same results. Any suggestions please?

Many things might be to blame, like not sufficient hardware (for Big Sur), spotlight indexing after upgrade, some other background processes. I'd try some generic stuff first, like checking Activity Monitor, freeing some space, reducing OS's visual effect, etc. Google something like this and let us know if things changed.
