I'm dying for an Age of Empires type game on ipad. I want a real RTS feel where I can build walls, towers, gather resources, and build armies.

Any suggestions?

Majesty is the most immersive RTS-type mobile game I can think of, although it's not exactly like AoE- you don't directly control what your units do. It's great fun though, and has a lot of depth.

Not sure anyone can match Age of Empires or not (I played Age of Kings). That was about the only game I played on a regular basis and loved it. The soundtrack to it was even great.

I am dying for an age of empires (specifically AOE 2) fix. How about for the Mac? Any solution there since Rosetta is no more?

Well, I loaded parallels and ran AoE2 that way. Funny thing I discovered, AoE 2 has an active community and an unofficial expansion called Forgotten Empires.

The expansion adds new civilizations, new technologies, higher rez support, huge AI improvements (I actually can't beat the new AI yet ), bug fixes and more.

The games in the series focus on historical events throughout time. Age of Empires covers the events between the Stone Age and the Classical period, in Europe and Asia. Its expansion, The Rise of Rome, follows the formation and rise of the Roman Empire. The Age of Kings and its Nintendo DS spin-off follow Europe and Asia through the Middle Ages.
