I have a Dell 2005FPW (I think is what its called) - the 20" widescreen dell from a few years back. However now it seems to be experiencing something rather odd... image burn-in. I can leave a window open for a while and when I move it away/close/minimize it, there is a strange ghostly after-image which slowly fades away over a few minutes. This certainly never happened before.

Has anyone else ever heard of this, or experienced it. And should I start thinking about a new monitor in January (mmm, maybe a nice ACD?)

I tried to take a couple of pictures to show what I mean... they havent come out too well though (bad light and cheap camera). You can see the outline of where the firefox window was, and strange liney bits where the msn contacts were. (I used paint to show a medium gray all over the screen). THe pinkish effect is not really present like the picture shows, but the rest is.

Apologies for this not being a mac-centri post, but I know many mac users are also design/graphics professionals who do have knowledge of monitors.
