help please i am trying to video using aim (me) and ichat (B&M)

I use a pc running xp and have aim 5.9

B&M not very experienced using ichat 3

he gets either

B&M failed to respond (when he accepts) or encountered errors with communication

Aaaahhhh


can anyone please advise, i have ajusted my firewall he thinks he's done the same. :(

when i look at mine it shows a grey box in both my buddy and my image


(scream, cry, sob) please help

You're trying to use windows with a mac? That's a nono :p.

Do you have the same problems with an audio chat? I don't know a lot about doing a video chat between a mac and PC, all my friends who have cams have macs.
 
It's been a while since I tried, this, but it is very problematic. My experience is that you need to forward a bunch of ports in your routers to your machines. You also need to make sure these ports are open in your software firewall on both machines.

This will be a lot easier if you give both machines fixed IP addresses, in order to be able to port forward them. This was supposed to be improved with the 10.5.2 update of Leopard on the Mac. Since you said iChat3, I assume he has Tiger.
