Alright, I am kind of fuzzy on how these apps are supposed to behave, so please bear with me.
I am been testing AIM on my 3G iPhone and old 2G iPhone for a few days, and I have found that my account will sign on, but when I go back to the home screen, it will sign off after a few minutes. I checked the preferences and I do not tell the app to close after I exit to the home screen. I am aware that in September, the PUSH service will be launched so that IMs will pop up when you get them, but that will do no good if the app doesnt stay connected. Has anyone else had this problem? The app is basically useless right now unless you keep it open, and even when you go, if you put your phone to sleep, it disconnects. Surely there is a better way to have decent IM service on the iPhone. Hell, other phones have had it for years.
