I began to enable my iPod's sound today so that Calender alerts would work and a distressing problem has arisen. The AIM application makes a sound, which cannot be turned off. I see the switch in settings and I turn it off but the sound plays every time I am im'ed. I know I could use Meebo, or a similar service, but the native client drains battery life less. Does anyone else have this problem? I tried wiping the iPod completely...twice...and reinstalling the app, but it won't work. The sound is supposed to be off, but isn't.

Yeah it sucks and is pissing me off to especially seen how I paid for the upgraded aim
