Aiport Antenna not working after bezel brace replaced

I replaced the bezel brace and clutch on an ibook G4 and after that the airport card is getting extremely poor reception. The airport only works within 3 feet of a wireless router, when it used to work 1 floor above that same router. It also constantly fluctuate in strength from full to 1 bar for no apparent reason.

I've repeatedly checked the seating of the card and antenna plug with no success. There is no obvious damage (no broken wires, or wires torn out from the soldering points) to the antenna when I opened it up to attempt to fix the antenna.

Well, all I can think of is that the wire that runs up into the screen into the bezel is damaged or pinched down were the hinges are at which can happen easily.
