OK, this was almost Windows like in how long it took me to figure out what might be going on, and I'm looking to see if someone can help explain it...
My iMac is usually asleep and for the past day or two it will not automatically connect to my network, which of course makes it difficult since the machine is there for my kids (3 & 5) and I'd prefer not to let them select networks at random.
First I deleted the preferred network and tried to add it manually and automatically (by joining the network and having add to preferred networks selected).
Second I deleted the Keychain entry and created a new one. No joy.
Finally, I checked the console and saw a number of messages to the effect that user is not logged into console. So I logged off and back on and it seems OK.
On this box I only have one account and it has admin rights. (I know I should create an admin account, but I just never get around to it.).
Weird. Anyone care to explain what might have happened?
