Really pleased with my new iPad Air 2 battery life. Show your battery results here. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415330950.636440.jpg

The difference in battery life is quite noticeable. The difference in mAh is about 20% but I think in actual usage the difference is closer to 25% to 30%. It's just my own experience, of course.

"Oct 23, 2014 - Summary: What makes Apple's new iPad Air 2 tick? ... Processor; Elpida/Micron Technology F8164A3MD 2 GB RAM (two 1 GB chips) ... Air 2 has a smaller battery than the original iPad Air, 7,340mAh compared to 8,827mAh."

Wow that's quite a drop off! Didn't realize how significant it was.

Thankfully the A8X is supposed to be much more efficient, hence the same real world battery life Apple is claiming compared to the Air1.

The problem is, Apple underclaimed the battery life of the Air 1.

A8 is supposed to be more power efficient than the A7. But A8X must be more power hungry. Otherwise it would appear on iPhones not iPad only.

I agree with this. I believe the A8X may not be quite as efficient as we'd like, and the extra gig of ram draws more power in sleep. My Air was a 15+ hour device that I charged every 5 days or so. The Air 2 seems to be a 10-12 hour device that I'll charge every 2-3 days. It's totally noticeable, and while it's fine, I'm surprised how much im missing the old battery life. It was the first device where I barely ever thought about the battery.
