Background - 2011 13" MBAir and 2013 iPhone 5
I use the Air on wifi where I can, and when not available I tether it via the iPhone 5, either physically with the Lightning cable or using Bluetooth. When tethered the iPhone shows the HOTSPOT notification at the top of the screen, one or two HOTSPOTS.
Until I updated the Air to 10.9.3, and now it won't work. Physically connecting them charges the phone, but the network settings i the MBA don't show the phone as CONNECTED. I can connect them by Bluetooth, after deleting and re-pairing, but the phone still will not pass a 'net connect through to the MBA. Regardless of the connection there is now no sign of the HOTSPOT bar at the top of the phone screen.
I have deleted and re-paired the Bluetooth, swapped the lightning lead for another one in case it was a connection issue, but it still won't connect.
I can't think what else to try ?
Gordon, disconnected in Aberdeen, unless on wifi

!@£$%^& typical Another search advised me to check that the Personal Hotspot was turned on, one of the recent upgrades had set it to OFF.
Egg on face here, all done, thanks for looking.
sigh
